Tiger TV Station Manager

In charge of day-to-day operations of station. Also in charge of overseeing all employees to make sure departmental goals and objectives are obtained. Works with Senior Staff members and advisor in creating program schedule, image, and strategic plan for station. Also works with underwriting, promotions, and production to create daily advertisements. Other job responsibilities include overseeing budget with advisor. Answers to Student Media Board.

PRODUCTION DIRECTOR

Manages a production crew to produce on-air station content in the control room and virtual studio. Ensures that the production crew has the proper training Schedules all studio productions, along with News and Sports Directors. Maintains order in the studio including cleanliness, and informs the engineer of any equipment needs. Responsible for maintaining current PSAŐs to air within commercial blocks.

PROGRAMMING DIRECTOR

Develops a local, flowing, and effective weekly schedule for our programming each semester. Directly responsible for all content, and ensures that all content is shown on time, and is appropriate as outlined in the Tiger TV policy manual and FCC regulations. Works with the station manager in formulating and maintaining attainable technical policies for shows. Responsible for the scheduling and execution of all special programming. Responsible for maintaining affiliate relations. Works with underwriting, promotions and operations to place sponsorships/advertising in commercial slots. Responsible for the management of all master control operators. Responsible for gathering viewership research.

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Responsible for daily traffic logs, and keeping in constant contact with underwriting to update the logs with new advertisers/sponsors. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining a tape library inventory system that will be used by the producers for filing their shows and for maintaining a log for all in-house production music. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining all packages/shows edited onto the AVID Unity servers. Acts as a resource to all staff members at the station, providing technical guidance and training as necessary. Works with equipment checkout to ensure that all equipment is returned, maintains a log and reports any equipment failures to the engineer.

PROMOTIONS DIRECTOR

Serves as a liaison between the LSU community and Tiger TV. Oversees all self-promotions for the station as a whole, including plugs for all regular and specialty programming. Works with the Station Manager to formulate the image and general theme for promotional adŐs to be used in other Student Media entities such as The Reveille and KLSU. Responsible for coordinating all special promotional events, including working with Student Media marketing team in developing overall promotional events for Student Media. Responsible for providing assistance and support to producers in promoting their individual shows. Oversees a promotional staff of student employees and volunteers that work toward promoting Tiger TV.

NEWS DIRECTOR

Responsible for implementing the overall editorial policies of the station, specifically as they relate to the news department. Develops (in association with the station manager) and implements news policies and procedures. Sets general tone and image of newscast (in association with Asst. News Director/Producer). Responsible for ensuring all news reporters/anchors are properly trained before doing their respective jobs. Responsible for having a script and rundown printed and ready for distribution at a specified time. Is the final authority on all news packages and content of the program.

SPORTS DIRECTOR

Responsible for implementing the overall editorial policies of the station, specifically as they relate to the news/sports department. Develops (in association with the station manager) and implements sports policies and procedures. Sets general tone and image of Sports Showtime. Responsible for ensuring all sports reporters/anchors are properly trained before doing their respective jobs. Responsible for having a script and rundown printed and ready for distribution at a specified time. Is the final authority on all sports packages and content of the program. The sports director is also responsible for obtaining press passes to all sporting event. Please note, Tiger TV can receive no more than two press passes.

PRODUCERS

Responsible for the accuracy and pace of all elements in the program. Responsible for having a script and rundown printed and ready for distribution at a specified time for studio productions only. Responsible for working with promotions department in developing promoŐs, and any special promotional needs for the show. Responsible for developing and adhering to a show format. Responsible for ensuring underwriting spots are run for their respective show. Sets the general tone and image of show. Responsible for adhering to all station policies, specifically as they relate to programming standards.

TIGER TV sports reporter

Will be paid $25 per sports package that is aired 8 pays are issued for fall and spring semester Note: Tiger TV does not work during the summer
