Come Work With Us
See your work in print. Be a star with your own television or radio show. Help students, faculty, and staff by telling them about breaking news that affects their lives or giving them a voice. Learn marketable skills in both your specific subject area as well as in management and human relations. Join the thousands of Student Media alumni who got their start in Student Media and are now media managers, television programmers, editors, writers, graphic designers, on-air talent, engineers, salespeople, and many other occupations.
Jobs in Student Media are available for students without regard to major. Although many of the students are mass communication majors, other students are studying geography, engineering, design, computer science, English, etc.
Jobs are available at skill levels ranging from basic to highly technical; pay ranges are commensurate with the skill level and time commitment required.
All paid employees are required to be full-time students at the University and must be in good standing, with a 2.0 minimum grade point average.
The major hiring periods are in November, for the spring semester, and in April, for the summer and fall semesters. Notices are placed in The Reveille, on bulletin boards, and via various electronic methods announcing the schedule for applying and interviewing.
Persons applying for top management positions will be interviewed by the Media Board and must complete a questionnaire. This questionnaire is available online on this website during the application period.
Some job openings occur throughout the year. If you are interested in working in a particular medium, contact the editor or station manager for job availability. The lists below are a general description of the type of jobs available. The actual list varies from semester to semester.
