Lenny.jpg (49837 bytes) Leonard Alsfeld grew up in Providence, Rhode Island and won the Rhode Island and the  New England championship at Cranston High School East. Alsfeld received a hockey scholarship from Providence College where Lou Lamariello, who is currently the General Manager of the New Jersey Devils, coached him.  After graduation in 1974, Alsfeld coached Providence's Inner City High School to an undefeated season and a state championship.  Business moved Alsfeld to New Orleans in 1981.  When sons Mac and Clark were old enough to begin playing, Alsfeld founded the Crescent City Hockey League in 1995.  The CCHL was recognized as Inline Organization of the Year in 2001, and Alsfeld coached the CCHL to Silver Medals in the 2005 and 2006 AAU Jr. Olympics.  He also coached Team USA to a Gold Medal.  Alsfeld helped begin Tulane University's team in 2000 and coached the Green Wave until his sons enrolled at LSU.  Now Alsfeld is committed to the ice hockey club at LSU.
