Welcome

Welcome to the Food Science Club of Louisiana State University. The Food Science Club encourages interaction among students and faculty in the Department of Food Science. Monthly meetings are held to encourage both professional and social development. Club members are invited to bring a dish from their native country for the potluck dinners held after each meeting. Also, our club is actively involved in promoting the area of food science and technology. We are also involved in the IFT, participating in both regional and national competitions.

Activities

The Food Science Club participates in a wide variety of activities ranging from professional and social meetings to volunteer work and competitions.

Professional meetings are organized whenever possible to help students learn about food science in both industry and academia. Also, potluck dinners held throughout the semester allow students and faculty to try a variety of different foods from each students home.

Our club also participates actively in helping to recruit new students to our department and in teaching others about food science. We have attended several student organization fairs to promote our club and plan to attend more in the future.
