Past, present and future--Periodical working report from CSSA
10/01/2002
Dear friends,
Today is the 53rd National Day of China, CSSA wanna take this chance to review
our work and share with us all about what we can anticipate. CSSA will publish
periodical working report each several months. When we will finish our service
for CSSA next year, we will
publish a general working report.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR
*******************************************
After we were in the office of CSSA in Aug. 2002, we had three major activities
1) Settle down all new students;
2) New students welcome party(end of Aug);
3) National Day party (end of Sep).
and one TOUGH task worked for a long time...
Continuing working on the flag issue with ICC (will reported later seperately
in detail in these days).
From the feedback we got about the first three activities, we are glad to see that most people are satisfied with what we did.
WHAT WE ARE DOING/WILL DO IN NEAR FUTURE
*****************************
1)Oct 20, Intelnational Exposition party, which is a VERY important event on
campus since it is not the case for some indivuals, it is for the COUNTRY--CHINA.
We will recruit some volunteers to work on that. Hope all of us can extend any
kind of assistance.
2)We are working on the homepage to make it more informative and efficient.
PLEASE often visit your own homepage:
http://www.lsu.edu/student_organizations/cssa/
3)We are working on a BBS system. Our several "high-tech" members
are busy working on that.
Hopefully, it will be working very soon...
CAN WE WORK BETTER TOGETHER?
******************************************
In the National day party two days ago, our committe members as well as some
volunteers were in such a busy that some of us were too tired to fall into sleep
afterwards (we experienced the real life of working in the restaruants, though).
Even though we were soooooo
tired, we are very happy that we can let more people have fun in the lobby other
than working in the kitchen anyway. We are very happy to find that most people
had a happy time on the National day party.
Partially due to the lack of experience of operating a party including food
supply for over 200 people, however, we should say the organization is not as
good as we expect: we expected more people can bring their food; we expected
more people may help us to do the
hard job than we really had.
We should say we could have done better if more people volunteer to help some in the party so we can also get the chance to enjoy the great songs as well; We should have more dishes if those people (including some old students) can also bring their food to share.
We hereby wanna thank all those helped us in the past events. Special thanks are also extended to buddies from Civil Engineering (my home dept.), who helped us a lot.
To serve the community and enable all of us have a better life in LSU is our
goal. Without the continuous help from EACH of us, we can do NOTHING. We are
here sincerely expecting more and more people can be really envolved into our
OWN activities, not for someone, for
OURSELVES.
OUR DREAM
******************************
CSSA can be a better-organized org if more people may contribute other than
just enjoy. We always beleive that it is a rurmor that Chinese people overseas
are selfish and not so organized, at least here.
We did have a great time on the past parties and someone even asked us if we can have more like this. We surely can do this more and better ONLY IF ALL of us can work together, for our community, also for YOURSELF.
CSSA are working transparently. We hope to get any kind of suggestions on how
to make CSSA work better. Please tell us in any means what you are thinking.
CSSA welcomes any kind of suggestions on how to have activities, how to do better
(Like in the national day
party, Dr. Liu, Dong suggested us to sing the first song together, which makes
the party better, thanks Dr. Liu).
CSSA is a great community, and it always needs your support to creat better memory in LSU, Let's ALL work TOGETHER!
Thank you for your attention.
