Dear Prospective Supporter,

The Cinema Club at LSU is an organization for students who are interested in movies, especially the art of movie making, and it provides them with a place to come together, share knowledge and help one another. The Cinema Club encourages and supports hopeful filmmakers and provides them with a venue to showcase their projects.

One of the most important projects that the Cinema Club undertakes each year is the annual Outhouse Film and Video Festival. The festival is a place for student and local filmmakers to showcase their work. We also hope to generate a forum for independent cinema in Baton Rouge. In 2000, the Cinema Club held its first Outhouse festival. Approximately 200 guests attended the event which showed over nine hours of footage. In 2001, lectures and awards were added to the festival. This year at the seventh annual Outhouse festival ("Outhouse 7"), we hope to have an even better festival with more festival days, entries, and awards.

In order to continue putting together and hosting this important event, we require additional funding. The Cinema Club does not charge dues for membership. We only ask for a nominal submission fee from entrants in order to help defray the festival costs. We would greatly appreciate any financial support you could offer.

We hope that you will consider supporting the Cinema Club at LSU and the annual Outhouse Film and Video Festival. If you have questions, need more information, or would like to make a donation please contact me at outhousefilmfest@yahoo.com or our faculty advisor Patricia Suchy at psuchy@lsu.edu.

Sincerely,

Matthew Dolney
President, Cinema Club at LSU
