In the spring of 2000, Cinema Club at LSU held its first annual Outhouse Film and Video Festival. LSU students and faculty were allowed to submit the films and videos they had created. Nearly 200 guests attended the event which showcased over nine hours of footage!
David Jensen, an actor and friend of Steven Soderbergh, screened the Soderbergh film Schizopolis in which he costarred with Soderbergh. Afterwards he discussed working on the film and answered questions from the audience.
Among the films screened was Kyle Crane's RX3, a dark psychological thriller about a timid young man who was pushed too far. Jeff Roedel also screened his film Drivethru Bandits.
Prior to the Outhouse, the Cinema Club did a public relations stunt on LSU's campus in order to generate student interest and promote the festival. The P.R. stunt was a mock movie shoot of the horror film Climerian Monster Blood directed by Steven Spielcock.
