Becoming a Sister in Service
Membership to Scotch Guard is open to all female undergraduates who exhibit a record of LEADERSHIP, CHARACTER, SERVICE, and SCHOLARSHIP. Members are required to maintain an overall 2.5 GPA.
Membership is chosen at the beginning at each semester through a brief application and interview process. Members who are chosen after the Rush process then attend weekly meetings as Pledges in order to learn about our organization. After this pledge semester, a member becomes an Active in the Guard.
Applications are available from any Scotch Guard member or in Johnston Hall. They can be returned to any Scotch Guard member or Johnston Hall. For your convenience, applications can also be downloaded here and e-mailed to lsuarmyscotchguard@yahoo.com.
Important dates to remember for applying for the Spring 2008 semester are as followed:
January 30: Mardi Gras Social. 7 pm at the Military Science Building (located on South Stadium Drive). Come and celebrate the tradition of Mardi Gras and meet some of the Lassies!
February 13: Night of Service. 7 pm at the Military Science Building. Come and help make Valentine's Day cards for residents at Ollie Steel Nursing Home.
February 15: Informational Rush Party. This is a more formal setting to finding out about our organization in depth and to ask any questions you might have.
February 17: Interviews. A brief interview with members of Scotch Guard. Dress is business casual.
We hope you are interested in our organization. :)
