Louisiana Center Addressing Substance Abuse in Collegiate Communities

Foster safe and healthy collegiate communities by reducing problems associated with students’ substance use through the process of collaboration among institutions of higher education and key community and state stakeholders.

Committed to establishing a Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC), providing a safe and affirming community space where students in recovery/allies can be supported.

Additionally, LaCASU works with LaHEC (Louisiana Higher Education Coalition); coordinating the CORE Alcohol and Drug Survey on the LSU Campus and statewide, providing professional development and assisting with the development of data tracking systems for campus personnel.

The LaCASU office is located in Pleasant Hall, under the direction of the Student Health Center, largely funded by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals’ Office of Behavioral Health. For more information, visit
