| From 2002 until summer 2009, a committee comprised of Professors Carruth McGehee, William H. Daly, and Chuck Wilson (along with countless consultants and contributors) worked on the development of policy statements governing appointment, evaluation, promotion, retention, and tenure. At least two of these generous colleagues continued their uncompensated labors during retirement. The result of their thoughtful and magnanimous efforts is a pair of full but lean, intelligent but reasonable policy statements that balance fairness with high expectations and that set a new, high standard in the enhancement and advancement of professorial promise and performance.
