Praxis Exams

The first education course in the Geaux Teach program is EDCI 2001.  The prerequisite requirement for this course is an ACT score of 22 or higher, a SAT score of 1030 or higher, or a passing Praxis I score.

Once in the program, you will need to take the Praxis II professional exam.  It is a two part exam which we recommend taking at separated times.  We recommend taking the Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching while taking the EDCI 3002/Math 3002 courses and the Praxis Mathematics while taking the EDCI 4003/Math 4003 courses.  You must be registered for these exams prior to the student teaching semester and must pass these exams in order to graduate.

For testing information please see our link to Praxis to the left for more details. To Register for the Praxis, contact 137 Himes Hall at 578-9487 to schedule a computer-based test. Contact PRAXIS at 609-771-7395 or on the web at www.ets.org/praxis, to schedule a paper-based test date. Registration information is available in 236 Peabody Hall. (Note: Standby Testing will NOT be offered in 2007–08.  Please see the Praxis Series Information Bulletin for information on Emergency Registration.)
