Wild-Caught Crawfish Task Force to Meet
Posted: 3/3/06

The Wild-Caught Crawfish Task Force will meet on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 9 a.m. in the Louisiana Room of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) headquarters building located at 2000 Quail Drive in Baton Rouge. The meeting is open to the public.

The discussion of crawfish bait availability, bait fish regulations, and crawfish trap tagging will be continued from the last meeting. Dr. Lynn Hannaman from the LSU Agriculture Center will have a short presentation on a bait-cutting machine that could lead to larger Chinese carp being made available as bait. Personnel from the Corps of Engineers' Old River Control Structure and the nearby Hydroelectric Power Station will also discuss restrictions concerning fishing near their structures.
