Kepler Creek Lake to Undergo Drawdown Beginning July 17
Posted: 6/29/06

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is announcing that a drawdown is set to begin for Kepler Creek Lake, in Bienville Parish, on July 17 as mandated by the Kepler Creek Lake Water and Recreation Commission.

The purpose of the drawdown is for shoreline maintenance and erosion control by property owners on the 1,925 acre reservoir.

The lake will be lowered approximately four inches per day until it reaches the target goal of eight feet below normal pool stage. The lake will be held at this level until Jan. 31, 2007. The water control gate will then be closed and allow the lake to refill.
