Science Honors Scholar Corey St. Romain

Corey St. Romain was born in New Orleans in 1997 but lived in Baton Rouge until he was five years old. Since then, he has lived in Mandeville, LA, 30 minutes north of New Orleans. He went to Mandeville High School and graduated first in his class. He earned a 2350 on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT, which led to him being placed in the LSU Honors College. He plans to double major in biology and chemistry at LSU.

Corey is a member of Tri-Beta and SAACS, and he is a Supplemental Instruction leader. He works in the Batzer lab of comparative genomics, which is currently studying the phylogeny of baboons. He also works in the Amedee lab at the LSUHSC, studying the effects of binge drinking on drug resistant mutations in SIV-infected rhesus macaques. His hobbies include playing guitar, videogames and intramural football.
