Jessica Jackley is a social entrepreneur who empowers other people around the world to achieve their dreams. She has created innovative ways for entrepreneurs to get the resources they need, including not just new funding sources but the support of communities.
Jackley founded Kiva.org, a site which allows lenders to view profiles of potential borrowers and make loans of $25 or more to those they find most appealing. The repayment rate for loans is more than 98%. Since the group was founded, donors across 216 countries have pledged nearly $300M in loans.
In 2009 Jackley and Dana Mauriello started ProFounder, making the process of raising investment capital from friends, family and communities more efficient, inexpensive, and legally compliant. In February 2012, Profounder joined forces with GOOD, continuing to innovate around crowdfunding.
