Contents Preamble • Article I: Organization Name • Article II: Purpose • Article III: Basic Policies • Article IV: Membership • Article V: Elected Officials • Article VI: Appointed Officials • Article VII: Standing and Special Committees • Article VIII: Meetings • Article IX: Amendments • Article X: Registration Renewal Preamble We, as residents of the on-campus residential communities at Louisiana State University and A&M College at Baton Rouge, in order to provide on-campus residents with appropriate student representation and self-government and to promote residential communities that foster academic, cultural, political, social, civic, and leadership interests of the on-campus students, do hereby establish this, the Constitution of the Residence Hall Association. Article I: Preamble Organization Name The organizational name will be: Louisiana State University and A&M College at Baton Rouge, hereafter LSU, Residence Hall Association, hereafter RHA. Article II: Purpose The purpose of RHA is to represent and serve on-campus residents by: providing academic, cultural, political, social, civic, and leadership development for all residents within on-campus residential communities; serving as a voice regarding policy and procedures in the residence halls; acting as a liaison between on-campus residents and internal/external campus entities; exchanging ideas and information at local, regional, and national conferences; programming to a variety of student needs; providing funding for developmental initiatives within the residential communities; and serving as the parent organization of the individual Community Councils. Any other goals, not listed above, that are in accordance with this constitution, may also be pursued. |
