Leadership and Service Living-Learning Community
Are you interested in making a difference in others’ lives and developing your own leadership skills? The Leadership & Service Living Learning Community (LLC) is for you! The Leadership & Service LLC is an opportunity for second-year students interested in leadership development, service-learning, and community outreach. Live with your peers in a close community environment created to help you develop your full leadership potential while at LSU.
The Leadership & Service LLC was created through the collaboration of Campus Life and Residential Life. Research has shown that students who are engaged in leadership and service opportunities have a higher degree of success in college, graduate in a timelier manner, and stay enrolled at their institution longer. The Leadership & Service LLC is designed to help students find their place at LSU and give students the tools needed to be a leader in their campus and community.
By living in the Leadership & Service LLC, you will get to:
- Enroll in a 3-hour credit course during the fall semester specially designed for the Leadership & Service LLC. The class will focus on the foundations of leadership behavior, including but not limited to communicating effectively, navigating group dynamics, motivating others, and capitalizing on the strengths of themselves and others.
- Participate as a community in the Community Bound Service experience in August.
- Attend monthly events with the Leadership & Service LLC cohort.
Residents of the Leadership & Service LLC will live together on campus in the West Campus Apartments.
West Campus Apartments offer LSU students space and privacy with all the benefits of living on campus. Conveniently located within walking distance of the “Quad”, Tiger Stadium, The PMAC, and Alex Box Stadium, West Campus Apartments provide state-of-the-art accommodations, including private rooms with telephone service, basic cable TV, in room data connections, washer/dryer combinations, and full size kitchens with microwave ovens and garbage disposals.
