Happy Wednesday, Tigers!

Splatterbeat is Tonight

Do you like music? Free t-shirts? How about paint parties? If so, then you should come to SPLATTERBEAT 2017!

Splatterbeat is an annual paint party hosted by the LSU Residence Hall Association (RHA) during Homecoming Week.

This event is open to ALL LSU Students, and will take place TONIGHT, September 27, from 7 - 9 p.m. on the Parade Ground.

Get ready for music, inflatables, free popcorn and Coca Cola products, and A LOT of paint! The first 400 students who bring a can good will receive a FREE Splatterbeat 2017 t-shirt to wear during the event.

See what all the fun is about and we'll see you TONIGHT on the Parade Ground at 7 p.m.!

Come See Us at Fall Fest this Friday

Come cast your vote for what restaurants and retail shops we should put on the first floor of Nicholson Gateway Apartments, opening Fall 2018. Coffee Shop? Whole Foods? Trader Joes? Walk On’s? Popeye’s? Come tell us! (And of course get free stuff too...it is Fall Fest after all!)

The Nicholson Gateway Apartments Tour Room will also be open Friday 10-4 in the Student Union, so go take a look.  In Honor of National Coffee Day, we’re giving away a Keurig Coffee Machine! Here’s how to win:

  1. Follow @LSUNicholson on Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat for details and inside scoop on how to win
  2. Go to the Res Life table at Fall Fest to get you Nicholson Nickel
  3. Bring that Nicholson Nickel to the Nicholson Tour Center in the Student Union to enter to win

Home Football Game Parking Reminder

This is a notification that home football game days – including this Saturday, September 30, 2017 -  bring additional people to campus, restricted parking in certain lots, and restricted access to the Pentagon Activity Center front doors.

The Office of Parking & Transportation Services will strictly enforce game day weekend parking lot restrictions in some lots near our west campus residence halls and apartments, including, but not limited to, the Tennis Courts Lot (Lot 206), and street parking on Cypress Drive, Fieldhouse Drive, and Dalrymple Drive.

For all home football games, residents must relocate all vehicles out of the area labeled as “Reserved Parking” on the 2017 Football Parking Map and into on-campus resident, non–restricted parking lots before 7 a.m. on game day. However, we recommend you move your cars by Friday evening. Any vehicles found in restricted areas on Saturday morning will be towed at the owner’s expense.

If you are unsure of where to park on home football game weekends, please review parking information at www.lsusports.net/parking to identify on-campus resident lots available, including the large lot adjacent to West Campus Apartments and Kirby Smith Hall, lots across Aster Street from Kirby Smith Hall and Cypress Hall, as well as the gravel lot on the corner of Cypress/Aster and W. Chimes Street.

The remaining home football dates are Oct. 14, Nov. 11, Nov. 18, and Nov. 25, and these same restrictions will apply.

Saturday Access to the Pentagon Activity Center

The Pentagon Activity Center front doors will be locked from use from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. this Saturday.

You will only be able to access the community through the back gates of the Pentagon Courtyard, near The 5 and Broussard Hall. You will still have access to the Activity Center through the doors facing the courtyard.

We do this for each home football game to eliminate non-student traffic into your community space. Please help us with this by accessing the community through the back gates, not letting anyone into the community that does not swipe their Tiger Card to enter, and reporting any suspicious activity to your front desk or RLC.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and Geaux Tigers!
