Federal Funding Programs

Agencies of the federal government are a primary source of external funds to support university research. The National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and Department of Energy account for the majority of federal research dollars that are expended at LSU. All agencies announce their program opportunities through Grants.gov, a searchable database and website for the management of federal grants and extramural programs.

Newly Announced Federal Opportunities

The Office of Research & Economic Development now provides a quick view of newly announced programs from federal agencies and programs. These opportunities are processed daily from the Grants.gov data feed.  For a complete list of available federal programs, you should search the Grants.gov database.
