Rizzuto Lab
The focus of my research is large-scale
organizational change processes and outcomes, with
particular interest in technology implementation across
a wide variety of settings and system types, ranging
from governmental integrated enterprise systems and
healthcare information technology transitions, to
educational information technology-use in college
classrooms. I also have an interest in catastrophic
organizational change in response to disaster, and
have provided research and service to the Katrina
Relief Effort (KARE) to aid hurricane recovery in
the region.
Specific areas of research interest include:
- Adaptation to organizational change over time
in response to technology implementation (e.g.,
acceptance and use reactions) or disaster (e.g.,
hurricane recovery)
- Multi-level and cross-level contextual influences
that shape technology acceptance and use
- Organizational structures that promote successful
technology implementation
- Organizational training practices and individual
learning preferences for learning new technologies
Matthews Lab – Occupational
Psychology Research Team (OPRT)
Research conducted in my lab is
diversified, but falls into two main categories. First,
several team members are seeking to examine issues
relating to occupational health Psychology (OHP) with
an emphasis on the work-family interface, the stressor-strain
process, and well-being outcomes. Other research being
conducted by team members focus on more personnel
related issues, including turnover and job performance.
An overarching theme crossing these two lines of research
is an interest in general methodological questions
and advanced quantitative analyses. I encourage students
(both graduate and undergraduate) to engage in a variety
of different projects in order to introduce them to
as many aspects of I/O as possible. I also encourage
and facilitate opportunities for collaboration with
other researchers outside the immediate LSU community.
Specific areas of research interest include:
- Boundary Theory applied to the work-family interface
- Similarities and differences in the stressor-strain
process for younger and older adults
- Longitudinal effects of employee well-being
- Issues relating to employee selection and retainment
