What is One-Session Treatment (Φst, 1989)?
In Vivo Exposure: Gradually coming into contact with what you are afraid of in a controlled, supportive, safe manner (nothing is ever done without discussing the step first and getting your approval)
Participant Modeling : Having the therapist demonstrate each step and gently guide you verbally and physically (for example, having the therapist show you how to pet a dog safely)
Cognitive Challenges: Confronting and challenging anxious thoughts which contribute to the fear
