Students working with Dr. Davis gain most of their clinical experience and training by participating in the child and adolescent services provided by the Psychological Services Center (PSC). Cases routinely include the assessment and treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders, as well as other difficulties (e.g., parent-child relational problems, ADHD, and learning disabilities). Students become involved with cases both through the Child & Adolescent Practicum and through the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the PSC. Services are provided to children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Graduate clinicians are co-supervised by Dr. Matson and Dr. Davis.
Graduate students with Dr. Davis's lab receive additional individual and group direction, supervision, and instruction by regularly participating in weekly individual supervision/research meetings, lab meetings, practicum meetings, journal club, and monthly clinical area research meetings. Clinical training emphasizes a scientist-practitioner approach, including empirically supported treatment and assessment.
