With the transition to college, your son or daughter will face new and important decisions that will affect his or her future success. They will look to you for guidance and support. We know that students make better decisions when they discuss their academic and campus life choices with their family. The goal, then, of the Family Orientation Program is to provide you with information on the latest academic requirements, fees, student resources, and University regulations. By attending the program, you will learn how to make your son's or daughter's transition to college life successful and participate in the excitement that makes LSU such a special place.
During the Freshman Orientation, Advising & Preregistration Program in June & July, you can participate in the Family Orientation Program while your son or daughter is participating in the student orientation activities. During the orientation sessions in June and July, the Family Orientation Program is also conducted two days. If your son or daughter will be attending LSU, as a new freshman, in the summer or spring, the Family Orientation is conducted one day.
