The LSU Office of Public Affairs is responsible for telling LSU's story to its various publics (on and off campus) by establishing and increasing awareness of LSU's programs, policies, opportunities, goals, and achievements.

This information is provided through the mass media, publications, video, correspondence, and various other means, using the resources and talents available in Electronic Media, Marketing, Media Relations, Photography, Publications and Web Development.

Most services provided by the Office of Public Affairs are free to University departments; there are charges for preproduction design services, electronic media production, and some photography. Detailed information about University policies concerning all aspects of public relations, including electronic publishing on the World Wide Web, is provided in PS-10.

Mission

The mission of Public Affairs is to build informed support of LSU by creating and communicating the University's key messages to targeted audiences, while advancing and preserving the image of LSU.
