The professionals in the Office of Communications & University Relations work together as a team to tell LSU’s unique story to local, national, and international audiences.
The office directs the communications strategy for the University, manages marketing and advertising efforts, handles media relations between the University and its internal/external audiences, provides creative services to members of the University community, conceives and produces digital imaging for promotional use, and is responsible for advancing the LSU brand throughout the nation and around the globe.
This information is provided through the mass media, publications, video, correspondence, and various other means, using the resources and talents available in Communications, Digital Imaging, Marketing, Media Relations, Photography, and Web & New Media Development.
Most services provided by the Office of Communications & University Relations are free to University departments; there are charges for preproduction design services, electronic media production, and some photography. Detailed information about University policies concerning all aspects of public relations, including electronic publishing on the World Wide Web, is provided in PS-10.
The mission of Communications & University Relations is to build informed support of LSU by creating and communicating the University's key messages to targeted audiences, while advancing and preserving the image of LSU.
