Prospective Students in the College of Art & Design

Admission to LSU’s College of Art & Design is selective. Students interested in architecture, studio art, interior design, and landscape architecture must be accepted to each individual school as well as admitted to LSU. Selective admission is based on high school grade-point averages and ACT/SAT scores. In addition, applicants to the studio art program must also submit portfolios of original work to the School of Art.

Contact the specific schools for more details.

Prospective Students in the School of Music

Students planning to major in music must audition for the School of Music. To minor in music, an audition on the appropriate instrument is also required. For more information, contact Carol Larsen at the College of Music & Dramatic Arts, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA 70803-2504 or at 225-578-3261.

Students who are not planning to major in music may participate in music ensembles, such as choirs, bands, or orchestras. Course numbers are listed in the schedule booklet. Most ensembles require an audition, which are typically held just before the semester begins. Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, and Gospel Choir do not require auditions. Call 225-578-3261 or visit www.music.lsu.edu for more information.
