Spring Freshman Orientation; Summer Freshman Orientation; and Freshman Orientation, Advising, and Pre-registration (Session 7)

You will need to apply online for the freshman orientation program. Apply by the deadline date indicated for the session you are attending. Visit the Sessions, Scheduling, and Costs page for deadline information. Please follow the instructions you received via email carefully. The orientation application will be pre-filled with the information the Office of Undergraduate Admissions has on file. If any of this information is incorrect, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at admissions@lsu.edu before submitting the Freshman Orientation application.

After you have completed the online application process, you will receive a payment confirmation, as well as a separate session confirmation and parking pass via email in approximately two business days.

Spring Invitational Program Registration Instructions

STEP 1

Go to the Orientation Application.

NOTE: Once you have submitted your requests, you will not be allowed to return to your online reservation and make changes.

STEP 2

Choose the “Login to the Orientation Application” link, and enter your PAWS (Personal Access Web Services) username and password. PAWS is LSU’s Web portal. A PAWS login account was created for you when you applied to LSU. (If you have any questions regarding your PAWS account, contact the Application Service Center at 225-578-0100.)

After successfully entering your password, you should be directed to an orientation reservation form that reflects the information you submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

NOTE: If any of this information is incorrect or if you would like to change your major, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at admissions@lsu.edu before completing the Spring Invitational Program reservation form.

STEP 3

Follow the prompts that will ask you to:

  1. Select which advanced standing exams you would like to take.
  2. Select which testing sessions you can attend Wednesday afternoon.
  3. Choose a meal option for lunch on Friday.
  4. Notify the Office of Orientation that you need shuttle service from the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport.
  5. Indicate whether your family will be accompanying you to the LSU Spring Invitational Program for our Family Orientation Program. If you indicate that your family will attend, you will be prompted to complete a reservation for the Family Orientation Program.

Continue through the online registration process until you have completed the entire form.

Verify all selected options before you proceed with payment because you will not be allowed to return to your online reservation form to make changes. If you need to change any of the information once you have completed your online reservation, contact the Office of Orientation at 255-578-2634.

STEP 4

Now, you will be prompted to pay your orientation fees using bank draft, MasterCard, or Visa. Enter and confirm your payment information online. Note: a 2.5 percent processing fee will be added when paying by credit card.

STEP 5

Within 48 hours after your payment information has been submitted and your online orientation reservation is complete, you will receive an email confirming your online payment. Upon notification of your payment, the Office of Orientation will mail you a reservation confirmation and a campus parking permit. If you do not receive a confirmation in the mail by March 28, 2008, call the Office of Orientation at 225-578-2634.

  • Remember that you must be admitted to LSU before your reservation for the Spring Invitational Program can be processed. If you have not already applied, visit www.lsu.edu/lsu4me and apply online. After submitting your online application, immediately mail all required documents to:

Your application, fee, transcript, and official test scores should be on file with the admissions office by February 1, 2008.

  • If your official SAT or ACT score(s) is not on file at LSU, contact the SAT or ACT testing center to request that an additional score be sent to LSU.

Freshman Orientation, Advising, and Pre-registration (Sessions 1-6)

STEP 1

Identify the dates for the session that you would like to attend.

  Session 1   Monday & Tuesday, June 9-10
  Session 2   Monday & Tuesday, June 16-17
  Session 3   Monday & Tuesday, June 23-24
  Session 4   Thursday & Friday, June 26-27
  Session 5   Monday & Tuesday, June 30-July 1
  Session 6   Monday & Tuesday, July 7 - 8

STEP 2

Go to the Orientation Application.

STEP 3

Select “Login to the Orientation Application” and then enter your PAWS username and password. (If you have any questions regarding obtaining a PAWS account or retrieving your account password, please call the Application Service Center at 225-578-0100)

This will take you to an orientation application that has been pre-filled with information currently on file in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Note: If you would like to change your intended major, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at admissions@lsu.edu. You will also have the opportunity to change your major during your orientation session.

STEP 4 – Follow the remaining prompts.

  • Select which orientation session you would like to attend.

Note: Reservations are confirmed on a first-received, first-reserved basis. Due to heavy participation, session changes are not permissible.

  1. Select which exams you would like to take.
  2. Select a housing option.
  3. Choose an orientation meal option.
  4. Register a parent for our Family Orientation Program.

Continue through the online registration process until you have completed the entire online application. Note: Once you have submitted your requests, you will not be allowed to return to your online application and make changes. If you need to change any of the information above once you have completed your online application, please contact the Office of Orientation at 225-578-2634.

STEP 5

Next, you will be prompted for payment of your orientation fees. Please enter and confirm your payment information. Note: A 2.5 percent processing fee will be added when paying by credit card.

STEP 6

After your payment information is submitted and your online orientation application is complete, you will receive an email confirming your online payment. Upon notifications of your payment, the Office of Orientation will send you a program reservation confirmation and a campus parking permit in the mail. Note: Walk-ins will not be accepted. You must be pre-registered for a session to participate. Please check your confirmation carefully.
