What to Bring

Please locate the type of orientation session you are attending to view a list of items you should have with you.

Spring Freshman Orientation; Summer Freshman Orientation; Freshman Orientation, Advising, and Pre-registration; and Spring Invitational

  • A black ball point pen and several sharpened No. 2 pencils
  • A non-graphing calculator for the chemistry and physics exams
  • A booksack to carry belongings
  • A picture ID (driver’s license) to allow you to take exams and be photographed for your LSU student ID
  • Money for meals
  • Instrument and music, only if you scheduled an audition with the LSU School of Music
  • Reservation confirmation form (to be emailed upon receipt of payment)
  • Parking permit (to be emailed upon receipt of payment)

Transfer Orientation

  • A copy of your transfer evaluation of credits
  • A catalog from your previous college or university
  • Any additional course credit information that you may have from your previous college or university
  • A booksack to carry belongings
  • A picture ID (driver’s license) to allow you to take exams and be photographed for your LSU student ID
  • Money for meals
  • Instrument and music, only if you scheduled an audition with the LSU School of Music
  • Reservation confirmation form (to be emailed upon receipt of payment)
  • Parking permit (to be emailed upon receipt of payment)

Family Orientation

  • Reservation confirmation (to be mailed upon receipt of payment)
  • Parking permit
  • A writing instrument (students should bring a black ballpoint pen and several sharpened No. 2 pencils)
  • Something to carry material/belongings
  • Money for meals and t-shirts (We will be selling LSU Mom and LSU Dad t-shirts for $10 and the “I Bleed Purple and Gold” t-shirts for $10.)
  • An umbrella
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • A light sweater or jacket
