A book series that examines the questions and issues at the heart of American democracy

Benefits for Authors

The main features of interest and benefit for authors of the series are as follows:

  • Publication in LSU Press, one of America’s most respected university presses, as well as association with the Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs

  • Authors may receive honoraria separate from royalties upon the acceptance of the manuscript for publication by LSU Press.

  • The book series editor will consult closely with the author in the development of the work and will be intimately and actively involved in the editing process.

  • The series will only produce two to three books per year, and thus the series editor and staff will be focused exclusively on these titles—i.e., authors will not be part of a huge production line.

  • We intend for the books to make a popular, prominent, and powerful impact on public debates on media and politics.

We will promote the books through advertising, book shows and mailing announcements to political professionals and academics. In some cases, we will also hold special symposia and conferences focused on the authors and their subjects.
