BATON ROUGE – LSU environmental engineering senior and 2012 Flagship Scholar recipient Kevin Brown is the first LSU student to be invited to the “Jeopardy!” College Championship Tournament, where he will be one of 15 students competing for a $100,000 grand prize in the 2016 tournament, airing Feb. 1-12.
The Boise, Idaho, native is scheduled to appear on the Tuesday, Feb. 2, quarterfinals broadcast at 4:30 p.m. on WBRZ. Additional viewing stations and times can be found at www.jeopardy.com/about/find-your-station.
“Being on ‘Jeopardy!’ was a much more intense and significant experience than I expected,” said Brown. “Over the course of two days, I got a behind-the-scenes look at a nationally beloved TV show, met 14 amazing students from around the country and, most importantly, had the opportunity to represent LSU on the national stage. I was the first LSU student to be invited to the College Championship, and I hope that my appearance will inspire more students to go for it.”
Other universities represented in this year’s tournament include Augustana University, Brown University, Columbia University, Mississippi State University, North Carolina State University, Northeastern University, Northwestern University, Stanford University, United States Military Academy at West Point, University of California at Berkeley, University of Pittsburgh, University of Southern California, University of Virginia and Wright State University.
