BATON ROUGE – The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association will host its annual Spring Training
Event, Wednesday, May 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Distinguished Leaders
Lecture Hall of the Business Education Complex. The lecture hall is located on the
first floor of The Auditorium as room 1510.
LSU Flores MBAAA President Craig Juengling stated the importance of this event, both personally and professionally.
“Our spring training event is a great way for us to stay up-to-date on the activities in the business world that affect each and every one of our businesses and lives,” Juengling said.
This year’s event will feature three presentations. The first presentation titled “ACA – Time to Implement. Moving Forward with Reform,” will be delivered by Mike Bertaut of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana and cover the Affordable Care Act.
Christel Slaughter of SSA Consultants will deliver the second presentation, titled “Today’s (and Tomorrow’s) Workforce and Generational Diversity … What Every Manager and Leader Should Know.” The topics of her presentation include the four distinctly different generations in today’s workforce and how to use those differences to motivate and lead effectively.
The third presentation, given by Blake Killian of Zehnder Communications and titled “Social Media: RUReady2Connect? #Help,” will discuss how to navigate the ever-changing world of social media and how to use social media as a competitive advantage for your organization.
There is no cost for LSU Flores MBAAA members to attend this event. The early bird cost for non-members is $30, and LSU Flores MBA students can attend the event for $10. Those wishing to participate are asked to RSVP online here. Cash and check payments will be accepted at the door the day of the event. The cost for the event for non-members who register after May 1 will be $50.
The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association-Louisiana Chapter provides a forum for LSU Flores MBA graduates to network, stay in touch with classmates and continue their business education through meaningful events. The Flores MBA Alumni Association endeavors to play a valuable role in the continued growth of the E. J. Ourso College of Business through a capital campaign and volunteer opportunities for Flores MBA graduates.
