BATON ROUGE – LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business students will have the opportunity
to take part in several special events next week as part of a joint effort that has
been labeled “Jumping into Business.” Alpha Kappa Psi and Pi Sigma Epsilon, in conjunction
with the Business College Council, will host the extravaganza, with the first event
to take place Tuesday, Sept. 17. “Jumping into Business” will culminate Thursday,
Sept. 19, with a panel discussion that will feature members of the college’s Dean’s
Advisory Council. All business students are invited to attend every event.
“We’ll have a student organization fair Tuesday and Wednesday in the courtyard at
the Business Education Complex, snowballs, a rock wall, a resumé writing seminar,
and other activities,” said BCC President Paul Broussard. “The whole idea behind this
is to engage students in a somewhat social way while providing them valuable services
that will help prepare them for their futures.”
According to Broussard, an overwhelming majority of the college’s student organizations
will be participating in the fair and in the collection of food for the LSU Food Pantry,
which serves needy LSU students.
“Students can bring non-perishable donations to the student organization fair – canned
tuna or chicken, canned soups, peanut butter, pasta, rice, dried beans, etc. – and
help their fellow students out,” Broussard said. “These three days are an opportunity
to really get something and to give back.”
