BATON ROUGE – Ray Castle, associate professor and director of LSU’s athletic training program, will speak to the Bossier Chamber of commerce on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 11:30 a.m. as a part of the chamber’s Patriot Awards program.
The Bossier Chamber of Commerce recognizes how important the military and first responders are to this community. Each and every day, men and women in the area put their lives before others in the line duty. The chamber ask people to join them in honoring the Bossier Parish military personnel, such as active/guard and reserve, law enforcement and fire/EMS teams that show up to serve the community day-in and day-out. Castle will serve as guest speaker to discuss his experiences one year ago at the Boston Marathon.
Castle, with his colleague Larry Venis, an athletic trainer from Boston University,
were standing near the finish line, under a beautiful sky when the first of two bombs
exploded about 50 meters away. Join the chamber as he shares his experience and recognizes
the courageous men and women that serve as first responders in our community.
The annual Patriot Awards will take place Wednesday, Sept. 11th, starting at 11:30
a.m. at the Bossier Civic Center. Individual tickets can be purchased for $35.
