BATON ROUGE – E! News anchor and breast cancer survivor Giuliana Rancic will speak
on Sunday, April 21,at 7 p.m. at LSU’s Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Gamma Zeta
chapter of Delta Gamma will host the event for their biennial Lectureship in Values
and Ethics. Admission is free and open to the public.
Rancic is a well-renowned E! News host, entertainment journalist, and fashion and
beauty expert. Rancic will speak about the values and ethics she follows in her own
life that have helped her become the woman she is today. Rancic teaches men and women
to focus on the positive in life. She will be speaking about her struggle with breast
cancer and how one can take control of his or her own health and future.
In 1992, Lectureships in Values and Ethics, a Delta Gamma program sponsored by the
Delta Gamma Foundation, was established by Paul Martin to honor his wife, Dorothy
“Dotty” Garrett Martin, Eta-Akron, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Though Dorothy is deceased, the lectureships immortalized her selfless spirit and
love for Delta Gamma. Delta Gamma Foundation has great pride in this unique program,
which is a prime example of its mission: “The Delta Gamma Foundation provides resources
for educational growth and philanthropic service for all members.”
Delta Gamma Lectureship in Values and Ethics was established at LSU in 2008. Gamma
Zeta’s Lectureship is a program only 18 (out of 147) Delta Gamma chapters across the
Fraternity have the privilege to host.
At past Lectureships, Gamma Zeta hosted Aron Ralston, best-selling author and inspiration
for the five-time Academy Award nominated film “127 Hours,” and Steve Ford, actor
and son of President Gerald Ford. Rancic will add her own touch of personality, poise
and success to this already impressive list of speakers.
The event will be free, with seating on a first come, first serve basis. For more
information, please contact the Gamma Zeta chapter of Delta Gamma’s Director of Public
Relations Maddie Duhon at firstname.lastname@example.org or 337-349-5403.
