BATON ROUGE – Sudipta Sarangi, Gulf Coast Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Inc. Distinguished
Professor of Business Administration and professor in the LSU Department of Economics,
authored an article accepted for publication by the Journal of Social Choice and Welfare.
The paper, “Modeling Resource Flow Asymmetries using Condensation Networks,” examines
the asymmetries with regard to the resources obtained by groups of players in equilibrium
“In this paper we introduce the notion of ‘condensation networks’ from graph theory
to the network formation literature in economics,” Sarangi wrote. “We show that instead
of identifying the stable network, one can identify networks where individuals can
be partitioned into groups that obtain the same levels of benefits from the network
– a much easier task.”
Sarangi’s research interests include industrial organization and applied game theory
According to its website, the JSCW “explores all aspects, both normative and positive,
of welfare economics, collective choice, and strategic interaction.” It covers topics
such as preference aggregation, justice and equity, and cost-benefit analysis.
