BATON ROUGE – LSU students, faculty and staff are invited to an enchanted night on the town on Thursday, Oct. 25, as the LSU Museum of Art hosts Once Upon a Night on the Town, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the museum, located on the fifth floor of the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette Street. Admission is free for LSU students, faculty and staff.
The event celebrates Once Upon a Time, an exhibition currently on display at the museum. Guests will have the opportunity to “trick-or-treat” through the galleries and receive discounts and gift cards from participating local restaurants and businesses. Refreshments and music will be provided.
Once Upon a Time takes guests on a magical exploration of fairy tale-themed artwork and works that allude to some of the best known and most beloved fairy tales, myths, fables and legends. For centuries, storytellers have stirred imaginations with their fantastical plotlines of valiant protagonists pitted against frightful villains. Their stories teach practical lessons and moral values, as happily-ever-after outcomes reflect hopes for humanity.
Once Upon a Time will be on display through Feb. 10, 2013.
