BATON ROUGE – The LSU Office of Human Resource Management and the Office of Accounting Services proudly announces the first graduates of the Business Manager and HR Contact Certification Program. The 19 graduates, celebrated at a luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Lod Cook Alumni Center, represent various departments and programs across the LSU campus.
Jane Verret, vice president of risk management at Campus Federal Credit Union, and Julie Laperouse, vice president of talent management at the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, served as keynote speakers at the event. The speakers congratulated the new graduates on their accomplishments and spoke about the importance of recognition and continuing their educational pursuits.
The Business Manager and HR Contact Certification Program provides current and aspiring HR contacts and business managers with the opportunity to acquire core competencies to perform their job at the highest level. LSU’s community of business managers provides facilitation and support for business functions and processes at all levels throughout the university. HR contacts provide facilitation and support for employment functions and processes at all levels throughout the university.
To become certified, employees complete core courses and electives in specific areas
tailored to their current duties or as part of their own professional development
aspirations. Graduates received supervisory approval before beginning the program.
