BATON ROUGE –Three campus entities are combining forces to host a political forum series this fall, and the next event will take place Thursday, Sept. 20, in The Commons of The Rotunda in the Business Education Complex, or BEC. The LSU Public Administration Institute, the Manship School of Mass Communication and Communications & University Relations will next co-host a forum focused on the economy that will feature a panel made up of members of the E. J. Ourso College of Business faculty.
Students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend the discussion and may submit questions for the panel to answer via Twitter using the hashtag #LSUvotes. Thursday’s event will be the first of three forum dates that will be held at the BEC.
On Thursday, Oct. 4, there will be a political forum event at the BEC, where the topic of discussion will be healthcare, particularly the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act popularly known as “Obamacare.” Additionally, a forum event will be held at the BEC on Thursday, Oct. 25, and the subject matter will focus on social and religious issues.
Two other forums will also be held on campus. One in the Manship School of Mass Communication’s Holliday Forum on Foreign Policy on Sept. 27 at 5 p.m., and one on the environment in the Energy, Coast & Environment Building's Dalton Woods Auditorium on Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. The LSU community and the general public are invited to attend the forums.
