BATON ROUGE – Priority registration for the LSU University Recreation’s Tiger’s Develop,
Educate, Nurture, or DEN, summer camp opens on Monday, Feb. 6. Priority registration
groups include returning families, LSU faculty/staff and LSU students. Camper registration
will be accepted in person at the UREC Student Recreation Center and by mail. This
year’s registration packet is available at www.LSU.edu/UREC/tigersden as a PDF download.
UREC Tiger’s DEN is a recreation-based day camp that provides a comprehensive program
that promotes healthy lifestyles among school age children, ages 6 to 12. Camp activities
encourage the campers to continue to grow and stay healthy. During each session, campers
spend action packed days filled with sports activities, structured games, arts and
crafts, swimming and weekly field trips dedicated to the session’s theme.
“I am extremely excited about the upcoming summer and the opportunities that Tiger’s
DEN presents for the LSU community,” said Zach Wood, UREC Tiger’s DEN camp director.
“We expect to be at capacity for camp for the entire summer, and we are in the midst
of constructing a dynamic curriculum that builds on the foundation of past summers
while introducing new age-appropriate activities for all children. Tiger’s DEN is
committed to utilizing the resources available on LSU’s campus, and especially within
University Recreation. For example, campers will benefit from activities and instruction
in areas such as fitness, healthy lifestyles and adventure education, all of which
are facilitated by accomplished professionals from those specific fields.”
For more information on UREC Tiger’s DEN, visit the LSU UREC website at www.lsu.edu/urec or contact Zach Wood at email@example.com. The LSU community is encouraged to register early because sessions are expected to quickly reach capacity. Registration will open to the public on Feb. 27 for any unfilled camp sessions.
