BATON ROUGE – As part of its Distinguished Lecture Series, the LSU College of Art & Design will present a lecture by interior designer Kenneth Brown on Monday, Nov. 21, at 5 p.m. in Room 103 of the Design Building. The lecture is free and open to the public, and professional American Institute of Architects & American Society of Landscape Architecture continuing education credit is available.
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Brown received a bachelor’s degree in interior design from LSU in 1995 and studied both industrial and interior design for a term at Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester, England. During that year, he traveled throughout Europe and further fine-tuned his aesthetic. He currently resides in both Baton Rouge and Los Angeles, where he is principle of Kenneth Brown Design.
Kenneth has completed homes for celebrities including actors Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Kristen Bell, as well as professional athletes Mia Hamm and Nomar Garciaparra. In addition to his residential portfolio, Brown has completed numerous commercial projects such as A. Rudin’s Los Angeles Flagship Showroom, Cedars-Sinai’s Founder’s Room, Endeavor Talent Agency, Wood and Vine Restaurant and Bar and hotel collaborations.
His broad exposure and popularity from his own television shows on Fine Living, The Learning Channel and Home & Garden Television led MSN.com to offer Kenneth the role of Resident Interior Design Expert. In addition to this, American Express Open selected Kenneth to share his success story as part of their ongoing Iconic Open Forum Series. Oprah’s “O” magazine featured Kenneth in her “Live Your Best Life Tour.” He has been named to the top 100 designers by House Beautiful and Western Interiors. He has also appeared on The Today Show, Tyra, CNN, iVillage Live, Entertainment Tonight, Good Morning America and Fox News This Morning.
