BATON ROUGE – LSU Continuing Education will host “Building Exceptional Teams” on Nov.
16, a free event for entrepreneurs to discuss how to build effective teams in order
to support company growth and increase productivity.
“For a business to advance to the next level, every entrepreneur has to develop their
employees and form successful teams,” said Lisa Verma, program manager of LSU Continuing
Education. “Continuing Education offers programs that are appropriate for small startups
and larger, more established companies.”
Leadership Management 2.0 is a new program offered by LSU Continuing Education that
will be featured at the event. The program teaches company executives and owners how
to develop a key employee or second-in-command to reliably support and manage the
responsibilities of a growing enterprise. Tim Stoll and Don Mahoney of the Alternative
Board will lead a short workshop to demonstrate how reducing distractions to the first-in-command
can boost his or her productivity.
“Building Exceptional Teams” will take place during the first annual Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship
Week, or BREW. This week-long series of events, held at venues throughout Baton Rouge
from Nov. 11-19, will include lectures, pitch competitions and networking sessions.
“Building Exceptional Teams is one of the many events happening during BREW to inspire
fresh thinking and celebrate entrepreneurialism in south Louisiana,” said Wendy Overton,
a member of the BREW organizing team and assistant executive director of LSU Continuing
“Building Exceptional Teams” will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in Baton Rouge
