What was your previous position and where?Before joining LSU, I was a research associate at Northwestern University, jointly appointed by the departments of engineering sciences & applied mathematics and materials science & engineering.What brought you to LSU?The mechanical engineering department at LSU has a strong thermal/fluids group and a materials group, which fit my research directions well.What is your research interest?We are looking into ways to increase the heat transfer capabilities of micro heat pipes. We are also trying to understand the morphological stability of nano wires.What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?I would like to enhance the visibility of my department by performing and publishing high quality research work. I would also like to teach new graduate courses to raise the standard of our graduate students.What do you enjoy most about LSU?Since LSU is the flagship university in Louisiana, we are more responsible for the future of the state. I am proud to be a part of such an institution.What are your major accomplishments?Together with my students, I have published many high quality papers in prestigious journals in fluid mechanics and materials science.
