What was your previous position and where?I was a visiting professor at Winona State University in Winona, Minn.What brought you to LSU?A dynamic department and the potential to be one of the best in advanced composite materials research.What is your research interest?Nanocomposites; multifunctional sandwich composite structures; non-destructive evaluation, or NDE; self-healing composite materials; and development of next generation composites.What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?I would like LSU to be recognized as a leading research institution in composite materials, and I will work towards that goal. I would also like to continue to promote diversity at the graduate level.What do you enjoy most about LSU?The diversity of people and culture.What are your major accomplishments?Research: the establishment of NextGenC3, a joint Southern University and LSU National Science Foundation Center developing next generation composites; and mentoring: advising several undergraduate and graduate students with diverse backgrounds.
