What was your previous position and where?I was born and raised in St. Paul, Minn. I graduated with highest honors in psychology from the University of Minnesota and earned my M.A. in 2005 and and Ph.D. in political science in 2008 from Stony Brook University in Long Island, N.Y.What is your research interest?My research interests reside in political psychology and communication, specifically pertaining to the effects of emotions on political behavior and persuasion.What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?Regarding teaching, my goals are to facilitate an understanding of political communication and electoral behavior, with the consequence of generating student interest, understanding and appreciation of politics. My primary research goal is to obtain a better understanding of the cognitive and emotional factors that explain voter decision making.What do you enjoy most about LSU?Both the Manship School and the Department of Political Science are nationally recognized programs. Why do I enjoy LSU? I am able to collaborate with extremely knowledgeable faculty members and work alongside bright and gifted students.
