What was your previous position and where?I was a postdoctoral fellow in the area of botanicals and experimental obesity for two years at Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge.What brought you to LSU?My husband is also a faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology. We were excited about working in a department and university that supports dual careers.What is your research interest?My primary research line explores how exercise alters inflammation.What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?I would like to obtain federal funding and become well-established in the exercise science field.What do you enjoy most about LSU?I really enjoy interacting with the students and the supportive faculty in our department. They have so much enthusiasm and they make each day at work fun.What are your major accomplishments?Personally, I’m am proud of my wonderful husband and beautiful daughter. Professionally, I’m proud of the research that I do with our undergraduate and graduate students. I also have been able to implement a class - KIN 4526: The Physiology of Endurance Training - that allows me to integrate learning about exercise physiology while training for a marathon.
