LSU is an equal
LSU Today Flagship Faculty
What was your previous position and where? Before my most recent appointment as assistant professor in 2008, I was a full-time instructor in the Department of Construction Management and Industrial Engineering at LSU.
What brought you to LSU?My husband is a Baton Rouge native and we decided together that we wanted to make Baton Rouge our home. While working as an instructor in the construction management program, I grew to admire and respect the people and processes involved in delivering the construction management undergraduate program at LSU. When offered the opportunity to be involved with the program as a research faculty member, I was excited by the new challenges presented by this offer and by the potential for both personal and professional growth.
What is your research interest? My primary research interest is building information modeling and the corresponding impacts on project delivery, construction productivity, sustainability and facilities management.
What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?The construction management program is in the process of building an outstanding research and graduate education program while sustaining their tradition of excellence in undergraduate education and outreach to the community. I hope to continue to be a contributing factor to the success of this endeavor.
What do you enjoy most about LSU?My favorite thing about LSU is the sense of community. I have met many wonderful people and developed lifelong friendships through my experience at LSU.
What are your major accomplishments? One of my major accomplishments since becoming an assistant professor at LSU was guiding one of my Ph.D. students, Rehema Monko, in her successful application to the Schlumberger Foundation for a Faculty for the Future Award.
