What was your previous position and where?Before coming to LSU, I was a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Information and Library Science. I was also a staff member at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Health Sciences Library.What brought you to LSU?I came to LSU in July 2008 to take on my first professional position as a faculty member with LSU Libraries.What is your research interest?My research interests including new and emerging technologies in higher education, library history and information literacy.What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?At LSU, my main goal is to reach out to students and help them understand information in today’s world. I look forward to finding new ways for LSU Libraries to connect with students and help them build the skills they need by the time they leave LSU.What do you enjoy most about LSU?Here at LSU, I really enjoy the camaraderie that exists among the faculty; I have enjoyed meeting and working with new colleagues through various campus committees and initiatives, such as the Women's and Gender Studies' Community Connections Committee and LSU Technology Associates.What are your major accomplishments?Some major accomplishments include successfully reinvigorating the new members interest group within the Louisiana Library Association this year, being honored with the UNC Health Sciences Library Award of Excellence in 2008 and receiving the Baker & Taylor Scholarship to attend the workshop Libraries & Librarianship: Past, Present and Future, and study at Oxford University in 2006.
