What was your previous position and where?I came to LSU in 2004 as a new faculty member, having just finished my doctoral program at the University of Florida.What brought you to LSU?I really enjoyed the faculty I met. They were passionate about their work and represented a variety of interests. They also cared a great deal about students.What is your research interest?I'm primarily interested in how women use various forms of media to make decisions about food and nutrition.What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?I hope to help my students communicate with more strategy, skill and confidence. I also hope to do research that helps consumers and citizens feel more confident making decisions that impact their health.What do you enjoy most about LSU?The people. LSU has faced a number of challenges in recent years, but when I look around I still see faculty, staff and students who love this school.What are your major accomplishments?In 2011, I was honored to receive the Southern Region Pioneer Award from the Association for Communication Excellence, or ACE, in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Life and Human Sciences.
