What brought you to LSU?I was hired by the Department of Finance at LSU as an Assistant Professor in 1988 when I obtained my Ph.D. degree.
What is your research interest? My current research interest is on how corporate decisions are affected by liquidity risk, and how corporate governance influences external information production on the firm.
What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?I hope my teaching can inspire students to learn more about and be interested in finance, which is a very interesting and rewarding field. I also hope I can continue to publish my research in top-tier finance journals.
What do you enjoy most about LSU?I have enjoyed teaching and doing research at LSU for the past 20 years. Being a professor, I am happy when I know that my students are learning. Also, the research environment in the Department of Finance is excellent, and I have nice colleagues who make it more enjoyable for me to be at LSU.
What are your major accomplishments? My major accomplishments are: (1) my research work, (2) teaching and research awards I have received, and (3) knowing that my students learned and enjoyed coming to my classes.
