What was your previous position and where?Assistant Professor, University of California at San Francisco, San Francisco, Calif.What is your research interest?Molecular virology, viral vectors for cancer therapy and vaccine development.What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?To establish a world-renown center for infectious disease research.What do you enjoy most about LSU?The graduate and undergraduate students, football games and playing soccer with my graduate students.What are your major accomplishments?Developing an anti-breast cancer therapy using viruses, developing a vaccine against West Nile virus and graduating top-notch PhD students that have productive careers in top institutions like Harvard, University of North Carolina, LSU Health Science Center and elsewhere.
